With the demise of Open Badge Academy, you might be looking for a new Open Badges platform. There are many out there, getting ever more specialised as the sector develops, so we’ve created a list of the ten that come to mind for us.

This means they’re biased towards the English-speaking world, and those we’ve interacted with over the past eight years. You should use this list in conjunction with the one provided by IMS Global Learning Consortium, who are the stewards of the Open Badges standard, and this page on Badge Wiki.

Digitalme created a ‘badge canvas’ which they released under a Creative Commons BY-NC license. We’ve uploaded this to archive.org for everyone to continue using in case it disappears from their website. Alternatively, you may use Badge Bloom, which is an interactive tool we’ve created which does something similar!

We did consider creating a huge table with lots of details about these platforms, but decided against it for a couple of reasons. First, it would need keeping up-to-date (a better place for something like that is probably Badge Wiki), and second, there’s lots of things to consider before choosing a platform (our co-op consults on this!)
