We Are Open Co-op, in conjunction with Participate, are working to create a knowledge base for Open Badges called Badge Wiki. The ‘barn raising’ kick-off session for this will be at 16:00 UTC on Wednesday 26th July, supported by our friends at the Open Recognition Alliance. You can read more about it here.

We’d like as many people to come along as possible, whether or not you’ve done anything like this before, and no matter how much you know about badgegs! The timezone calculations for wherever you are in the world can be found at this link. (And yes, we’ll ensure that there’s a future session at a more manageable time for our friends in Asia/Australasia!)

We’ll be building and discussing for about an hour — or longer, if people can stick around. There’ll be several of these barn raising sessions, but you can gain a rare and special badge by attending the first one!

Here’s some things you can do beforehand, whether you can make it or not:

  1. Retweet this to show your support.
  2. Check out our announcement blog post, comment on our draft privacy policy, terms of service, and technical scope.
  3. Join the Badge Wiki group on Loomio where we’ll be discussing plans and progress.

We’re keen to make this a valuable, sustainable resource for the community and beyond. Ensuring this first barn raising session is an important first step in achieving that goal!

If you just want to rock up to the session next Wednesday, then add the following to the calendar entry you make for 16:00 UTC on next Wednesday: http://etherpad.openrecognition.org/p/BarnRaising_26_July_2017
