Back in December 2017, We Are Open Co-op launched Badge Wiki, a knowledge base for the Open Badges community. We’re now looking for help in keeping this resource going.
Chip in what you can, or become a sponsor!

We were helped in our initial work on Badge Wiki by Participate, and the Open Recognition Alliance were also kind enough to provide technology and assistance in running ‘barn raising’ community calls over a six-month period.
How we’re funding
The time has come for the community to step up and help financially if they want to see Badge Wiki exist into the future.
We’re using Open Collective for community contributions and sponsorship of Badge Wiki, as it allows us to collect money and be transparent about what we do with it.
The badges community can chip in in small amounts — or your organisation might choose to sponsor the entire wiki! Either way, your contribution will be shown on the We Are Open Community Projects page. When you’re curious what the money is doing, just scroll down to “Budget” and you’ll see the expenses we submit. Check out this example.
Highlights
Below you can find just a few highlights from Badge Wiki over the past 18 months.

Mouse recently created several wiki pages to disseminate the outputs of their badge projects:
- Research on Design League Badge Portfolios
- Programmatic Foundations for Badge Portfolios
- Partnership Case Study: Design League Badge Portfolios
- Endorsement Journey
Grainne Hamilton wrote up the history of the Mozilla Discover Open Badges project, providing an extremely useful resource for anyone looking to implement badge pathways:
The Inter-American Development Bank put their badges blueprint and outputs of badges workshops on Badge Wiki:
- IDB Credentials
- IDB Credentials Workshop Outputs
- Digital & Alternative Credentials Workshop
- Badge Project Blueprint
There’s lots of great information on Badge Wiki, and we’d like to spend some time going through and organising some of that. So why not chip in and/or become a sponsor?
